Environmental portrait & casual portrait

Environmental

I chose this photo as my favorite environmental photo because it show the Subject and the scene of the sport.

I also chose this enviornmental photo because shows the subject and his Environment and who he is.

Casual

this is my favorite casual portrait because the subject followed the rule thats most important to photography and that be yourself act guffy dont have a straight face its boring and thats why i chose this girl eating an apple and laughing.

I choose this one also for the same reason they are being themselves and acting goffy not being boring there being creative and thats what makes a great Casual portrait.

I would like to shoot students being themselfs at school and showing the personality every individual has not everyone is the same and that what my portrait is going to be about. Everyone is different in their own way and i would like to shoot a portrait of a student with a unique personality.

Self Portrait tips

  1. Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait
  2. Get Closer
The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. Viewers can sense when a subject is small because it was supposed to be and when it's small because the photographer was too shy to get close.
  3. Use your imagination! A self-portrait can reveal a lot about you, by including props and even other people that are meaningful in your life. If you've never attempted to shoot a self-portrait, expand your creative horizons and give it a try

Portraits and Self Portraits

This is my favorite Self-portrait Winner and i choose this picture over the others because its unique and its and old asignment that we have done in this class and i know how hard it is to make one of these type of projects and thats why this is my favorite one. This is also a good picture because it shows the background of these young girl and i think that picture that tell a story are good.

This is my favorite self-portarit of Annie Lebovitz because its unique and none other photographers i have seen taken a picture as good as this one. I also believe that pictures tell you alot about the photographer and tell you a thousand words. Good pictures make you stop and think and wonder why is that a good winner and make you think about the photo. The next time i have the camera my style i would like to work on would have to be Profesional portraits because i would like to see how hard it is and go through the process of other famous photographers.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. Someone fooled with the picuture that Manahem Kahan took and put it in the ultra-Orthodox jewish newspaper. People were being caught of messing with pictures and they were being fired from newspapers.

B. I think that photo manipulation messes with the photo and isnt a good idea because it changes the photo and does really show how good of a photographer people really are. I also dont agree with photo manipulation because they could make peoples opinions change and look at the picture wrong and could start and some could take it wrong and make a huge deal about it.

A. I think this photography is the most unethical because, it could anger people because of the war in iraq and they could make George W. Bush a target man for debating with one of the most hated people of the United states.

B. I think that this photo isnt as bad as the others because its just a physical apperance to a living human and its disrespectuful but i think it ethical but not as much as the others.
