Environmental portrait & casual portrait

Environmental

I chose this photo as my favorite environmental photo because it show the Subject and the scene of the sport.

I also chose this enviornmental photo because shows the subject and his Environment and who he is.

Casual

this is my favorite casual portrait because the subject followed the rule thats most important to photography and that be yourself act guffy dont have a straight face its boring and thats why i chose this girl eating an apple and laughing.

I choose this one also for the same reason they are being themselves and acting goffy not being boring there being creative and thats what makes a great Casual portrait.

I would like to shoot students being themselfs at school and showing the personality every individual has not everyone is the same and that what my portrait is going to be about. Everyone is different in their own way and i would like to shoot a portrait of a student with a unique personality.

Self Portrait tips

  1. Think about your motivation and emotions: Blankly staring at the camera rarely gets good results. Be silly, don’t be afraid to over-act. The worst that can happen is that you fill up your memory card with useless photos; but you might also find yourself with a proper gold-nugget of a self portrait
  2. Get Closer
The most common mistake made by photographers is that they are not physically close enough to their subjects. In some cases this means that the center of interest—the subject—is just a speck, too small to have any impact. Even when it is big enough to be decipherable, it usually carries little meaning. Viewers can sense when a subject is small because it was supposed to be and when it's small because the photographer was too shy to get close.
  3. Use your imagination! A self-portrait can reveal a lot about you, by including props and even other people that are meaningful in your life. If you've never attempted to shoot a self-portrait, expand your creative horizons and give it a try

Portraits and Self Portraits

This is my favorite Self-portrait Winner and i choose this picture over the others because its unique and its and old asignment that we have done in this class and i know how hard it is to make one of these type of projects and thats why this is my favorite one. This is also a good picture because it shows the background of these young girl and i think that picture that tell a story are good.

This is my favorite self-portarit of Annie Lebovitz because its unique and none other photographers i have seen taken a picture as good as this one. I also believe that pictures tell you alot about the photographer and tell you a thousand words. Good pictures make you stop and think and wonder why is that a good winner and make you think about the photo. The next time i have the camera my style i would like to work on would have to be Profesional portraits because i would like to see how hard it is and go through the process of other famous photographers.

Photo Manipulation and Ethics

A. Someone fooled with the picuture that Manahem Kahan took and put it in the ultra-Orthodox jewish newspaper. People were being caught of messing with pictures and they were being fired from newspapers.

B. I think that photo manipulation messes with the photo and isnt a good idea because it changes the photo and does really show how good of a photographer people really are. I also dont agree with photo manipulation because they could make peoples opinions change and look at the picture wrong and could start and some could take it wrong and make a huge deal about it.

A. I think this photography is the most unethical because, it could anger people because of the war in iraq and they could make George W. Bush a target man for debating with one of the most hated people of the United states.

B. I think that this photo isnt as bad as the others because its just a physical apperance to a living human and its disrespectuful but i think it ethical but not as much as the others.

Ethics In Fashion Photography

1.
  • They move her head up
  • They make her eyes bigger
  • They make her shoulders thinner
  • Make her hair more brighter and colorful
  • Her ears more little
  • Her mouth more wider
  • Her cheeks thinner and more flat.
2. NO, because i think that they make people insecure abouth themselves and that is bad for women out there thinking they wont ever get like those girls in the magazines.

3. Yes, i think that it would be more wrong when you take pictures of people and fix them to make them look better because that would hurt their self esteme.

4. I thing that changes are okay when it has to do with the lighting and the red eyes or other physical background and the bad changes have to do with someones physical apperance.

5.fashin photography is different they do all these physical changes to the subject and photojornalism doesnt do any changes they just try and take the shot as best as they can.

6. Fashin photography and photojornalism both focus on beauty and catching that shot.

I would like to visit this amusement park because its the oldest one on the both page links and now its covered by nature. Another reason why i picked this amusement park is because of how the roller coasters are still stood even though the material is so old and in bad condition.

2.

4.

C.The images work together in telling the story by putting them in sequence and showing the events in order.

Cool Video

I think that the guy who made this video need to improve it the movie was alright but it really didnt show how much fun you can have during home coming it was kind of dull .

Instagram Phone Photography

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?
We could use the different type of shoes people wear.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?
I think we should use our own phone photos because it shows people the type of photos we take on a regular day instead of using profetional cameras

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?

I would love to put the mural on the front of the campus to show everyone the type of people and style has.

Fixed Photo Shoot Post shoot reflection

1. What i learn about the camera when i took the photos was that the camera needs light to capture a great picture and it is very sensitive to the movement of people depending on the shutter speed.

2. I notice that most of our photos are REALLY dark and they dont really show as clear because the location we took the photos didnt have alot of light to make the photograph clear.

3.You can tell the difference between each ISO by the brightness of the light and how clear it looks.

4.Taking the photos showed me that the ISO is really important when taking photos because it changes the way the photo looks and i think is the most important between apeture, shutter speed, ISO.

5. The photos with the most focus where the ones that had the most light and the darkest ones were the less focus.

6.
ISO: 100,SS:1/15 Fstop: 5.6,Distance: 5Ft, FL:18, Lighting: Indoors

7. Next time i need to consentrate is on the lighting and The three most important parts of taking a pic on manuel Shuter Speed, ISO, Apeture.

Warm Up

1.The camera has to use the exposure bracketing function and you have to put it on Manuel mode.

2. Yes, the Canon T3 has the ability to shoot bracketed photos

3. We could take pictures like this on the football field or the courtyard.

4.
The technique they used on this photograph was symplicity because they show the car and the enviorment it is in.

Wednesday, October 5, 2011

  1. Manuel Bravo Alvarez photos that caught my attention is how explicet photography is and the brutality of how the world is.

2. I see Blood on the floor and a dead body. I see someone that lost a life. I also see the violence of the world and how people can just kill someone else.
I smell of death or skunk. I can also smell the mans cologne and the smell of gun smoke.
I hear Crying and gunshots. I can also hear people crowing the streets and sirens in the neighborhood.
I taste the blood that is on the crime scene.I can also taste the smell of the dead body thats laying on the floor.
I feel bad for him because he died. I also feel like life is presiouse and shouldnt be waisted. I also feel depress because ive never seen a dead body .

3. I would post a blog about my photographer to show how great his pictures are and how he goes for the most truthful facts and the fact that he takes pictures of how life is no matter how harsh it is.
Aperture
  1. Human Eyes
  2. The smaller the aperture the bigger the picture, the higher the apeture the smaller the picture.
  3. The smaller aperture will bring all foreground and background objects in focus, and higher the apeture will make the forground objects sharp and the brackground.
  4. Yeah, the F stop is available in my camera.
  F 16
F 2.8

Africa Black and White ( Nick Brandt)

I really like this photo of Nick Brandt Because it shows my favorite animal and a peaceful enviorment in the wild.
  1.  He uses a Pentax 67II with only two fixed lenses
  2. What I am interested in is showing the animals simply in the state of Being
  3. To capture the animals true emotion and feeling.
  4. "You wouldn't take a portrait of a human being from a hundred feet away and expect to capture their spirit; you'd move in close"

Academic Shot Reflection

  1. The rules I encounter while trying to get the 6 rules were trying to get the shot with a merger and mostly get the simplicity shot.
  2. The technical aspect of photography of photography in general i focused more on keeping the camera still and the focus and position of the shot that made it harder to pic the shots your looking for.
  3. If i could back now i would now realize the instruction and the rules i have to follow and i would make it way easier.
  4. The things i would keep the same is the position of the shot and the focus of it.
  5. The rule that i think would be easier to achieve would be The rule of thirds.
  6. The Hardest rule i think is the hardest to capture is probably the simplicity shot in a full class room and the Framing.
  7. The rule I'm still struggling on would be balance i don't get the rule that well.

The 6 Rules

Framing- This is a great shot for framing because the two pools frame the subject, in this case it's the guy in grey.

Rule of Thirds- This shot is an alright pic for the rule of thirds i think i could of done better but it does qualify for the rule of thirds and it shows the subject and his surrounding and location.

Balance- This is an okay shot of a balance shot because the student show the balance of the shot.

Simplicity- This is a great shot of simplicity because nothing takes the attention away from the subject and it is a verry simple shot.

Lines-This is a really great shot of lines because the lines appear in the shot and on the floor and wall.

Mergers- This is a very good picture of mergers because the lamp looks like its growing out of his head and that is why photographers are trying to avoid photos like that.

The Story, Action and Emotion, Most Interesting

Best Story-This tells the best story because these nice young teen are spending their time helping out so elderlie people in the cold.
Action Or Emotion-This picture shows alot of emotion because these boys are joining hands to pray and this shows alot of emotion.
Most Interesting Stuff-This is a verry cool photo Because it is verry mysterious and it makes you wonder what their doing and why are they wearing alot of protective gear.
